Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk fight immortalised in Jacob & Co watch

Heavyweights will slug it out in Saudi Arabia, a country with strong ties to Jacob & Co.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will fight for the heavyweight championship of the world on Saturday, May 18.

Before they enter the ring in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, both fighters will be given their own unique watches made by Jacob & Co. in collaboration with design studio Big Time Creative Shop, which is owned by General Entertainment Authority, a government department charged with bringing global events to the oil-rich Arab state.

In addition to the watches given to Mr Fury and Mr Usyk, a third piece is being made and auctioned by Sotheby’s to raise money for Make-A-Wish International, a global children’s charity that grants wishes to children living with a critical illness.

The boxers’ watches, named Ring of Fire, are based on Jacob & Co.’s three-dimensional Astronomia Art collection.

The hefty 50mm rose gold timepieces will suit a heavyweight wrist and have been designed as tributes to Mr Fury and Mr Usyk including 10mm high figurines of both fighters and their blue and red boxing gloves.

The watch’s regulator, a double-axis flying tourbillon, controls the rotation of the scene while a small time-only dial also circles the watch face.

“We’re very excited to see Fury and Usyk get into it,” says Jacob & Co. chairman and founder Jacob Arabo.

“At Jacob & Co., we have a long history of making bespoke timepieces with and for fighters. It’s a privilege for us to make this limited edition Astronomia Art Ring of Fire. Especially because proceeds from one of the timepieces will go to one of the most respectable charities. This fight is one for the ages,” he adds.

The Ring of Fire watch will not be the only Jacob & Co. in Tyson Fury’s collection.

He also owns a Jacob & Co Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon, which he acquired ahead of his clash with Francis Ngannou, also in Riyadh, in October 2023.

A limited edition of only 126 pieces, the watch has a retail price of $300,000.
